What's in a 920,000 VND bowl of pho in Vietnam?
With a price of up to 920,000 VND/bowl of "sky-high" pho at the tallest tower in Vietnam, it is still not the most expensive bowl of pho sold in Vietnam today.
What's in a bowl of pho for 920,000 VND?
In recent days, the menu of a restaurant in Hanoi has been circulating on social media with the question: Joke or for real?
On the menu, in addition to the mushroom cream soup and roasted pumpkin coconut soup sold for 255,000 VND/serving, this restaurant also caused a stir when listing the price of a bowl of pho called “sky-scraping” pho at 920,000 VND.
According to the restaurant's menu, the "sky-high" pho bowl includes Australian oxtail, Wagyu beef, rice noodles and herbs.
The listing of a “sky-high” bowl of pho at 920,000 VND also makes this restaurant one of the most expensive places to eat pho in Vietnam.
However, this is not the most expensive bowl of pho in Vietnam currently being served by restaurant owners.

Specifically, the most expensive bowl of pho in Vietnam today costs 100 USD, sold at a restaurant on Ton That Dam Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. This bowl of pho was once experienced by Sonny Side, the famous MC of the Best Ever Food Review program.
Normally, beef pho is served with two types of meat, rare and well-done, usually beef brisket. However, this $100 bowl of pho has seven types of meat including beef balls, thinly sliced beef tendon, beef tongue, beef shank, beef brisket, beef flank, and Angus beef.
However, not every customer who comes to the above restaurant will be able to enjoy this million-dollar bowl of pho.
According to a customer who has enjoyed this $100 bowl of pho, customers must order one day in advance and transfer 50% of the bowl of pho (equivalent to $50) in advance. The reason is that the pho broth must be simmered for 12 hours and the restaurant only serves pho upon customer request.
In addition to the $100 bowl of pho above, the price of a normal bowl of pho at this restaurant is only about 200,000 VND/bowl.
The reason why this bowl of pho costs millions is because it contains Wagyu beef (similar to the “skyscraper” pho at Landmark 81) and the most expensive Truffle mushroom in the world. It is known that the price of each kilo of black Truffle mushroom ranges from 3,000 - 4,000 USD, while white Truffle costs up to 7,000 USD/kg.

In addition to the $100 bowl of pho above, in Hanoi, another pho restaurant also serves a special type of pho for up to 850,000 VND/bowl, nearly 30 times higher than the usual bowls of pho on the streets of Hanoi.
According to the introduction, this is a special bowl of pho with high-quality Japanese Kobe beef. In Vietnam alone, the price of imported Kobe beef is currently not less than 4 million VND/kg.
However, this is also the most expensive bowl of pho that this restaurant serves if customers request it, while the price of regular beef pho here is only over 80,000 VND/bowl.
In addition to the special bowls of pho with the most expensive prices in Vietnam above, many famous pho brands in Hanoi also offer prices much higher than regular bowls of pho.
