Teacher who beat many students during exam was fired
Four days after the meeting between the Chairman of Hai Phong City and the leaders of Quan Toan Primary School, teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Trang was fired.
The district leaders also requested an assessment of the level of violation of Ms. Pham Thi Van (homeroom teacher of class 2A) for disciplinary action. The school board should coordinate with the Parents' Representative Committee to organize a public meeting to apologize to the parents and students of class 2A7.
That same evening, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Principal of Quan Toan Primary School, said that on May 21, the school's Board of Directors will meet to announce the disciplinary action against Ms. Trang and decide how to handle Ms. Van.

Camera footage shows that Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang (homeroom teacher of class 2A8, assigned to supervise the exam in class 2A7) repeatedly slapped the temple and used a ruler to hit the leg of a student sitting at the first desk named Duc. Ms. Trang also hit more than 10 other students. At the end of the exam, Ms. Pham Thi Van entered the classroom to urge the students to do their test and hit some students, causing some to cry out in pain.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung affirmed that the incident had a negative impact on the city, and the responsibility first belongs to the school's Board of Directors, then the leaders of Quan Toan Ward, Hong Bang District, the Department of Education and Training, and the city's leaders. The education sector needs to learn from experience in dealing with teachers and students.
The city chairman requested Hong Bang district to review and discipline the Board of Directors of Quan Toan Primary School and teacher Trang with the highest form to set an example for the entire education sector.
