According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, recently, the world petroleum market has had fluctuations in supply, demand and prices affecting the domestic petroleum market. In order to ensure the supply of petroleum for domestic production, business and consumption, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has requested key petroleum traders to ensure the supply of petroleum for domestic production and consumption, and to provide sufficient and continuous supply of petroleum to consuming units in the system.

This agency also requires key traders to closely monitor the development of goods sources. In case of difficulties or beyond their authority, they must report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for timely handling.
A representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that according to reports from key petroleum trading enterprises and some Departments of Industry and Trade, the supply of petroleum for the domestic market is still being fully provided by key enterprises, and at the same time, enterprises are committed to ensuring continuous and uninterrupted supply for their petroleum retail systems.
"In case the supply from domestic factories cannot meet the demand, businesses will seek reasonable import sources to ensure the supply of gasoline for the domestic market," said a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In response to some information about the scarcity of gasoline supply in recent days, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said it has requested the General Department of Market Management to strengthen inspection and supervision of sales at gasoline retail stores and at gasoline trading enterprises, and strictly handle traders who violate regulations on gasoline trading.
In the recent gasoline price adjustment session on March 18, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance spent a record amount of VND2,801/liter from the gasoline price stabilization fund for E5 RON 92 gasoline; RON 95 gasoline had a fund disbursement of VND2,061. Therefore, gasoline prices were kept stable.
However, economic expert Ngo Tri Long said that this fund release level is unreasonable, reducing the reserve capacity of the gasoline price stabilization fund and causing pressure to increase prices in the next price adjustment period.
