Nearly a third of billionaires in the UK have moved or are planning to move to so-called "tax havens", according to a major investigation published on March 7. The Times newspaper published a series of reports showing that the super-rich in the UK have cheated billions of pounds in taxes over the past decade. Accordingly, 28 of the 93 British billionaires listed in public records have moved or are in the process of moving to "tax havens", of which nearly 50% have left the UK within the past decade.

Companies registered in offshore “tax havens” such as the Channel Islands, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) pay little or no tax. The report also found that more billionaires in the UK have relocated since 2010, when the government raised income tax on the super-rich to 50% in 2010, although it was later reduced to 45% in 2013.

Thailand's Constitutional Court on March 7 ruled to dissolve the Thai Raksa Chart party, a party linked to the Shinawatra family, for nominating Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi to run for prime minister, AFP quoted judge Twekiat Menakanist as saying. Along with the dissolution of the Thai Raksa Chart party, its leaders were also banned from participating in political activities for 10 years.

The Thai Raksa Chart Party's nomination of a 67-year-old princess as a candidate for prime minister in February shocked Thai public opinion and was criticized by King Maha Vajiralongkorn as "inappropriate." This was an unprecedented move, breaking the tradition of the Thai royal family staying out of politics. The Election Commission of Thailand (EC) then asked the Constitutional Court to dissolve the party.
