Despite the suspension order, the illegal wood chipping facility continued to operate.
Despite being shut down by authorities, an illegal wood chip processing facility in Quyet Tien village, Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong district, is still operating.

As previously reported, on February 23, 2025, authorities of the Con Cuong District People's Committee inspected and discovered a newly constructed illegal wood chipping facility owned by Mr. Nguyen Van H, residing in Quyet Tien village, Chi Khe commune. Immediately afterward, the authorities issued an administrative violation report, ordered the facility to cease operations, and submitted the case to the competent authority for further action.
Subsequently, on February 24th, Mr. Nguyen Van De, Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, along with a delegation, directly inspected this unlicensed wood chip processing facility. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the local authorities to closely monitor the suspension of the facility's operations.

However, just a few days after the provincial inspection team checked, the facility resumed its illegal operations, ignoring the provincial leaders' directives.
Based on observations from March 2-4, trucks were still transporting acacia wood to this illegal wood chipping facility, the chipping machines were operating normally, and wood chips were piled high around the yard. Despite being an illegal operation, the facility had invested in a modern processing line, complete with workshops, excavators, a weighing station, and an control room.

Notably, this facility is located deep within the grounds of the Tan Hong Pulp Mill in Quyet Tien village. This mill has long since ceased operations and is currently leased to another entity for use as a garment factory.
Regarding the issue of the illegally operating wood chipping facility, Mr. Lo Van Thao, Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district, said: "We will immediately conduct an inspection and take measures to deal with this wood chipping facility."

The above incident highlights the shortcomings in handling administrative violations by illegal wood processing facilities. Without stricter monitoring and enforcement measures, this situation could continue, negatively impacting the environment and state management order in the area.
