Steel stocks surged; SJC gold held steady at 67.10 million VND

Steel stocks increase sharply

Steel prices today, June 14, recorded a slight increase on the stock exchange. Steel stocks all increased sharply, with some codes increasing by nearly 70% after 2 weeks.

The stock market on June 13 recorded an explosion of steel industry stocks. HPG (Hoa Phat), HSG (Hoa Sen), NKG (Nam Kim Steel), TLH (Tien Len Steel) stocks all increased sharply by 2% or more, even SMC or TIS (Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel) increased to the ceiling purple "white on the sell side". Trading was relatively active when HPG matched orders for nearly 37 million shares, HSG recorded 29 million units being transferred while NKG recorded more than 21 million shares being traded.

Domestic steel prices have decreased for the 9th consecutive session, but steel stocks have increased sharply in the past 2 weeks, with some codes increasing by 70%.

The positive developments came after positive information about consumption demand in the domestic market. Typically, Hoa Phat Group recorded steel consumption of all types (construction steel, hot-rolled steel coil, and steel billet) in May reaching 530,000 tons, although down 20% compared to the same period last year, but up 16% compared to April 2023. This is also the highest steel consumption of this group since the beginning of the year.

The recovery in demand will create more conditions for steel producers such as Hoa Phat or Pomina to restart the blast furnace system that had to be temporarily closed at the end of the year before the whole market demand hit rock bottom. Manufacturers are even ready with plans to issue additional shares to expand production and business once the market recovers.

Today's steel price recorded an adjustment in the domestic market with 2 products: CB240 rolled steel and D10 CB300 rebar.

Specifically, the price of CB240 coil steel in the Northern region was adjusted down by 200 - 310 VND/kg at all brands; the Central region recorded a decrease of 200 - 250 VND/kg at Hoa Phat, Viet Duc and Pomina. In the Southern region, the price of CB240 coil steel at Pomina and Hoa Phat decreased by 200 VND/kg and 210 VND/kg, respectively.

The world plummets, SJC gold remains steady at 67.10 million VND

Gold price today June 14, domestic gold price is unchanged, with JSC gold price currently at 67.10 million VND/tael (selling). Meanwhile, world gold price has dropped sharply, currently at 1944 USD.

At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on June 14, on the trading floor of Saigon Jewelry Company SJC, SJC gold was 66.50 million VND/tael for buying and 67.10 million VND/tael for selling.

The world plummeted, SJC gold held steady at 67.10 million VND.

At Phu Quy Jewelry Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 66.45 - 67.05 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 66.40 million VND/tael for buying and 67.00 million VND/tael for selling.

Vietinbank Gold price is listed at 66.50 million VND/tael for buying and 67.12 million VND/tael for selling.

The price of SJC gold at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 66.47 - 67.03 million VND/tael (buy - sell). The price of 24K Rong Thang Long gold of Bao Tin Minh Chau is listed at 55.58 - 56.43 million VND/tael.

Rice prices continue to increase by 50 VND/kg

Rice prices today, June 14, in the Mekong Delta continued to increase by 50 VND/kg for rice. Meanwhile, dry sticky rice prices fell sharply by 600 - 800 VND/kg.

Specifically, at An Giang warehouse, OM 18 rice is purchased by traders at 6,800 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice is 6,300 - 6,500 VND/kg. IR 50404 rice is in the range of 6,200 - 6,400 VND/kg. Nang Hoa 9 rice is purchased by traders at the range of 6,600 - 6,800 VND/kg. Dai Thom 8 rice is in the range of 6,800 - 7,000 VND/kg. Nhat rice is in the range of 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg. Nang Nhen rice (dry) is 13,000 VND/kg; AG sticky rice (fresh) is 6,200 VND/kg

As for dry sticky rice, the price has dropped sharply by 600 - 800 VND/kg. Accordingly, AG sticky rice (dry) is priced at around 7,200 - 7,600 VND/kg, down 800 VND/kg, Long An sticky rice (dry) is priced at around 7,900 - 8,100 VND/kg, down 600 - 700 VND/kg.

Rice prices fluctuated today.

Regarding rice, the price of raw rice and finished products increased by 50 VND/kg. Accordingly, the price of raw rice fluctuated around 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND/kg; finished rice was at 10,850 - 11,050 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND/kg. Regarding by-products, the price of broken rice remained stable while the price of dry bran increased by 50 VND/kg. The price of broken rice remained stable at 9,400 - 9,500 VND/kg; dry bran was 7,400 - 7,650 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND/kg.

According to traders, raw rice supply is low today, the ports are empty of rice. The summer-autumn rice market has not seen many fluctuations.

In the export market, the export price of 5% broken rice from Vietnam is being offered at 498 USD/ton. Meanwhile, the price of 25% broken rice is at 478 USD/ton; Jasmine rice is 578 USD/ton.

PricePig price increased - decreased from 1,000 - 3,000 VND/kg

Today's live pig price fluctuated from 1,000 - 3,000 VND/kg and recorded the highest level of 62,000 VND/kg.

In the Northern region, the price of live pigs today increased by 1,000 - 3,000 VND/kg and fluctuated between 58,000 - 62,000 VND/kg. In particular, after increasing by 1,000 VND/kg, traders in Yen Bai and Nam Dinh provinces also purchased live pigs at 58,000 VND/kg. Recording the same increase, live pigs in Bac Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces were purchased at 59,000 VND/kg.

In Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen and Hanoi, after increasing by 1,000 VND/kg, the price of live pigs in these localities was purchased by traders at 60,000 VND/kg. This price was also recorded in Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc after traders in these localities increased the purchase price by 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day.

The price of live pigs recorded the highest level of 62,000 VND/kg.

Notably, the price of live pigs in Thai Binh today recorded an increase of 3,000 VND/kg, reaching 62,000 VND/kg - the highest in the region. This is also the highest price in the country.

The remaining localities in the region did not record any price fluctuations and recorded the same price of 58,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, the price of live pigs today decreased sporadically and fluctuated between 56,000 - 58,000 VND/kg. Accordingly, the price of live pigs in Thanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces decreased by 1,000 VND/kg to 58,000 VND/kg. Other localities in the region did not record any price fluctuations.

In the Southern region, the price of live pigs today increased and decreased by 1,000 VND/kg and fluctuated between 57,000 - 60,000 VND/kg.
