US special services will search Russian consulate in San Francisco
On September 1, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the US Special Services Agency announced that it would search the country's consulate building in San Francisco, California.
According to Ms. Zakharova, the US Special Service plans to search the Russian Consulate General building in San Francisco on September 2, including the residences of employees living in the building despite their diplomatic immunity.

Families, including children and infants, were told to leave the building within 10-12 hours. Ms Zakharova said Russia reserved the right to take retaliatory measures.
Previously, the US had demanded that by September 2 at the latest, Russia must close its Consulate in San Francisco and buildings in Washington DC and New York City, where Russian trade missions are located, in retaliation for similar measures taken by Moscow against the US.
Last July, Moscow asked the US to cut more than half of its diplomatic and technical staff in Russia after the US Congress passed new sanctions against Russia in response to Russia's interference in the US election and annexation of Crimea from Ukraine./.
