Korea International Cooperation Agency hopes to soon have a Korean Studies department in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) expressed his wish that Nghe An would soon have not only a Korean language training department, but also Korean culture training for those who love the land of kimchi.

On the afternoon of January 15, the KOICA delegation led by new President Lee Mi Kyung had a meeting and paid a courtesy call to the leaders of Nghe An province. Receiving the delegation were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
At the meeting, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh introduced to the delegation some highlights of Nghe An province. The head of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that Nghe An pays much attention to the field of investment attraction, and recently had the opportunity to meet with many potential investors from Korea.

New President of Korea International Cooperation Agency visits and works in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 15, a delegation from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) led by Ms. Lee Mi Kyung - the new President, visited and worked at the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College in Vinh City, Nghe An.
“Many investors come to learn about the investment environment and study the possibility of implementing activities in industrial parks. In general, Nghe An has a lot of cooperation prospects with businesses and investors from Korea,” Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed.
The Provincial Party Secretary also particularly emphasized the issue of human resource development, education - training, and vocational training in Nghe An and said that the province currently has the top quality of education - training in Vietnam.
“Quality human resources are one of Nghe An’s advantages. That good quality is partly thanks to the help from Korea. For example, the Vietnam-Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College is proof that it is developing very well,” the Provincial Party Secretary affirmed.

Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh also frankly shared with the working delegation that Nghe An has not yet trained many professions in the field of science and technology, especially at the university and postgraduate levels.
From there, the Provincial Party Secretary expressed his hope that KOICA would continue to support Nghe An in training high-quality human resources, developing science and technology, promoting high-tech projects...
Referring to the ODA projects of Korea being implemented in the area, the Provincial Party Secretary also proposed that KOICA and the Korean Government continue to pay attention to supporting the construction of the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical College into a high-quality school in the region; organize high-quality Korean language training for Vietnamese people who love Korea and want to have the opportunity to work with Korean enterprises in a systematic and professional manner.
“If these two contents are successfully implemented, the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College will truly become a model for in-depth cooperation between the two countries,” he affirmed.
For their part, Nghe An province leaders also pledged to always create the most favorable conditions for any partners and investors from Korea to come to Nghe An to learn and survey, helping investors always feel secure.

On behalf of the delegation, KOICA President Lee Mi Kyung said that Vietnam is one of KOICA's leading partner countries, with many close and developing relationships.
Ms. Lee shared that from an aid recipient country, Korea has now become a developed country. Therefore, supporting less developed countries is considered a duty and responsibility by the Korean people.
“Last year, KOICA conducted a survey, according to which the majority of Korean people believed that the budget for ODA projects should be increased, with the mindset of receiving first and now returning later,” said the President of KOICA.
Ms. Lee also expressed her hope that in the coming time, more Korean enterprises will come to invest in regions of Vietnam. “KOICA itself, as the unit implementing ODA projects, will try its best to contribute to the development of bilateral relations,” she emphasized.
During this visit, Ms. Lee directly confirmed the success of the ODA investment project at the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College in phases 1 and 2, and believed in the success of phase 3.
KOICA leaders thanked the support, assistance and coordination from Nghe An provincial leaders and relevant departments and branches to ensure the project's effectiveness and sustainability.
With the province's proposals, KOICA accepted and said it will continue to evaluate in the coming time. Regarding the content of Korean language teaching, Ms. Lee said that it is not only necessary to teach the language but also to popularize Korean culture, and open a Korean Studies department in Nghe An to contribute to making the relationship between the two countries stronger.
