After 10 years of implementing the 2005 Law on Anti-Corruption, anti-corruption work has achieved many results, but the corruption situation is still complicated, the number of detected cases is low, the recovery of corrupt assets is low, and the detection and handling work has not met requirements.
At the 6th session, the 14th National Assembly passed the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption, which officially took effect from July 1, 2019. The Law consists of 10 chapters and 96 articles regulating the prevention and detection of corruption; handling corruption and other violations of the law on anti-corruption.

The basic contents and new points of amendments and supplements to the 2018 Law on Denunciation include: Adding regulations on anonymous denunciations, shortening the procedure and time for handling denunciations from 5 steps to 4 steps; allowing withdrawal of denunciations; clearly regulating the protection of whistleblowers; temporarily suspending or suspending the handling of denunciations.
