Russian military's new 'flying radar' far surpasses its American 'rival' of the same type
Russia's new generation A-100 long-range airborne early warning and control aircraft, dubbed the "flying radar", has completed its final test flight, according to Fort-russ.
Russia's Vega Corporation CEO Vyacheslav Mikheev said the company's new-generation A-100 airborne early warning and control aircraft had its final test flight last Friday.

The A-100 is a new generation airborne early warning and control aircraft, developed within the framework of RKM Premier, on the basis of the IL-76MD-90A transport aircraft.
The A-100 is equipped with a unique antenna system and the latest special radio equipment that allows to quickly expand the radar range in a given direction of operation.
In addition, this aviation complex can detect and escort airborne objects, as well as participate in the control of fighter and attack aircraft when aiming at air, ground and sea targets.

According to previous reports by the Russian Defense Ministry, the A-100 was developed to adapt to the emergence of new target classes and new-generation fighter aircraft. The A-100's capabilities far exceed those of its domestic and foreign counterparts, including the US Air Force's DRLO E-3 aircraft.
