Van Anh was born in Tan Dien hamlet, Dong Van commune (Tan Ky). The age when she began to feel life was when she witnessed her family breaking up. Van Anh and her younger brother followed their mother to live in a tiny house in block 4, Town (Tan Ky).
Loving her mother, Van Anh tried very hard in her studies. To save her mother's money, she never went to extra classes, and occasionally participated in volunteer activities. Life was not filled with much laughter, but she never had negative or depressing thoughts.
Not only that, Van Anh's academic results were always the envy of her peers. During her high school years, Van Anh was always at the top of her class and school; in grade 9, she won first prize in the district's Literature competition, and in grade 11, she won the provincial English competition.
Especially in the university entrance exam of the 2012-2013 school year, Van Anh achieved 27 points in block D, the valedictorian of Hanoi National University and the second highest score in block D in Nghe An province, and was honored to attend the ceremony to commend and award excellent international, regional, national students and students with high scores in the university entrance exam of the 2012-2013 school year.
Entering university, Van Anh determined that university was a place for her to strive, practice and mature. She shared that she was shy and afraid of crowds, so she rarely interacted with people since high school. After a year, because of her love for Japanese language and culture, Van Anh decided to retake the exam to enter the Faculty of Japanese Language and Oriental Culture at the same school.
In this re-exam, Van Anh continued to score 26 points, becoming the second-highest scorer. In the past 3 years of university, Van Anh has always achieved an average score of 3.5/4 points.
