Medical examination and treatment facilities requesting health insurance cards when there is already an image on the VssID application is against regulations.
(Baonghean.vn) - That is one of the contents that the provincial Social Insurance agency explained voters' opinions and recommendations in Report No. 346/BC-HĐND dated November 28, 2023 of the Provincial People's Council.
“Voters of Hung Nguyen town, Hung Nguyen district reported that currently, the provincial and district Social Insurance are actively encouraging people to use VssID software, limiting the printing of health insurance cards, but medical facilities still require people to provide health insurance cards when going for medical examination and treatment. Suggest a solution.”
Explanation of the provincial Social Insurance agency:
Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 1493/BHXH-CSYT dated May 31, 2021 of Vietnam Social Security on the use of health insurance card images on the VssID application for health insurance examination and treatment, Nghe An Provincial Social Security has issued Official Dispatch No. 1020/BHXH-GĐBHYT dated June 2, 2021 on the use of health insurance card images on the VssID application for health insurance examination and treatment to Social Security of districts, towns and health insurance examination and treatment facilities in Nghe An province for implementation, accordingly:
“From June 1, 2021, health insurance patients coming to see a doctor or receive treatment can use the health insurance card image on the VsslD application instead of using a paper health insurance card; In case the patient has not installed the VsslD application, the paper health insurance card can still be used for medical examination and treatment according to regulations”.
Over time, the use of health insurance card images on the VssID application instead of using paper health insurance cards has contributed to shortening the time for administrative procedures when going to see a doctor or receiving medical treatment and has received high consensus from the people. In cases where medical examination and treatment facilities require people to provide paper health insurance cards when there is already an image of the health insurance card on the VssID application, this is against the regulations.
The Social Insurance Agency continues to coordinate with the Department of Health to work and request medical examination and treatment facilities to strictly implement the use of health insurance card images on the VssID application to replace the use of paper health insurance cards during health insurance examination and treatment.
In addition, currently, 100% of health examination and treatment facilities covered by health insurance in Nghe An province have met the conditions for implementing health examination and treatment using citizen identification cards. Accordingly, when going for health examination and treatment under health insurance, people only need to use their citizen identification cards with chips to complete medical examination and treatment procedures.
