More people may be prosecuted in the case of 8 dialysis patients who died

On the morning of June 28, answering the press about the matterThe Vietnam Association of Emergency Resuscitation and Poison Control sent a petition to the Minister of Public Security, stating that the investigation agency's arrest of Dr. Hoang Cong Luong in connection with the dialysis accident that killed 8 people was not "objective and convincing".Lieutenant General Do Kim Tuyen (Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police) said the Ministry has not received the application yet, only receiving information through the press.
Mr. Tuyen said that the initial investigation results of the case were assessed by the Ministry of Public Security as "objective". This was the basis for the Hoa Binh Police to issue a decision to prosecute and detain Dr. Luong and two others.The Ministry of Public Security determined that this was an "extremely serious case" so from the very beginning it directed units to verify "carefully and objectively".The investigation agency will continue to clarify many issues and verify the people involved, so the number of suspects involved may increase.
The incident at Hoa Binh General Hospital occurred on the morning of May 29 when 18 patients undergoing dialysis suddenly showed signs of abnormality. Eight people died one after another.

Hoa Binh Provincial Police prosecuted Bui Manh Quoc (31 years old, Director of Tram Anh Water Treatment Company Limited), Tran Van Son (27 years old, officer of the Medical Supplies and Equipment Department of Hoa Binh General Hospital), Hoang Cong Luong (31 years old, doctor of the Intensive Care Department - Artificial Kidney Unit, Hoa Binh Provincial General Hospital) for the crimes of Involuntary Manipulation due to Violation of Professional Rules, Lack of Responsibility Causing Serious Consequences, and Violation of Medical Treatment Regulations.
On June 26, Professor Nguyen Gia Binh, President of the Vietnam Association of Emergency Resuscitation and Poison Control, along with a number of others, sent a petition to Minister of Public Security To Lam and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien expressing surprise and confusion at the above conclusion of the investigation agency and saying it was "not convincing".
The Association of Emergency Resuscitation and Anti-Poisoning recommends that the Minister of Public Security direct relevant agencies to investigate and reach objective conclusions to avoid wrongful convictions and help medical staff feel secure in serving patients. "In our opinion, Dr. Luong's shortcomings are simply administrative procedural shortcomings," the petition reads.
