Bidens pilosa (a type of herb) is used to treat bone pain.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine: Bidens pilosa has a bitter and sour taste, a neutral nature, and the effect of breaking up blood clots and dispelling stagnation; when roasted, it strengthens tendons and bones, and nourishes the liver and kidneys.
The plant known as Achyranthes aspera L., belonging to the Amaranthaceae family, is also known as Southern Achyranthes.
Achyranthes bidentata is a perennial herbaceous plant that can grow up to nearly 1 meter tall, with a stem covered in soft hairs. The leaves are oval-shaped, opposite, and have wavy edges. The flowers are numerous, growing in spikes at the top, 20-30 cm long. The fruit is a capsule, a very thin-walled pouch with sharp, thorn-like bracts that easily catch on clothing. The seeds are elongated oval-shaped. For medicinal use, the entire plant (including the roots) is uprooted, washed clean, chopped into short pieces, and used fresh or dried for later use.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine: The plant *Cynanchum auriculatum* has a bitter and sour taste, a neutral nature, and acts to break up blood clots and dispel stagnation; when roasted, it strengthens tendons and bones, and nourishes the liver and kidneys. It is used to treat rheumatic pain, numbness, beriberi, and swelling and pain from falls. It is also used in arthritis and postpartum bleeding. In addition, *Cynanchum auriculatum* can help lower blood cholesterol, treat atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, and traumatic swelling and bruising. Dosage: 15-30g decoction for oral administration; for external use, crush and apply as a poultice. Contraindications: Pregnant women should avoid using it.
Here are some of the medicinal uses of the plant known as "cỏ xước" (a type of medicinal herb):
- Treatment for hematuria (blood in urine):Use 20g of Cynodon dactylon root, 40g of roasted Dioscorea opposita, 40g of roasted lotus seeds, roasted Plantago major flowers and Thuja orientalis leaves, and roasted Polygonum multiflorum; grind all into a fine powder; take 12g twice daily.
- Treatment for edema and jaundice:Use 20-25g each of Bidens pilosa, Imperata cylindrica root, Plantago major, and Clematis chinensis; decoct them in water and drink the resulting liquid.
- Treating fever and runny nose:Use 30g each of Bidens pilosa, Polygonum multiflorum, and Rhus chinensis; decoct them in water and drink the resulting liquid.
- Rheumatoid arthritis:20g of stir-fried Cynanchum root soaked in alcohol, 12g of Angelica dahurica, 16g of Loranthus parasiticus, 16g of Clematis chinensis, 12g of Eucommia ulmoides, 12g of Angelica sinensis, 12g of Rehmannia glutinosa, 12g of Paeonia lactiflora, 12g of Codonopsis pilosula, 12g of Gentiana macrophylla, 8g of Cinnamomum cassia, 8g of Ligusticum chuanxiong, 6g of Glycyrrhiza glabra, 6g of Asarum sieboldii. Decoction to be taken once a day, divided into three doses, for 10 days.
- Treating mumps:Take the roots of the prickly grass, add water, and crush them; strain the liquid to use as a mouthwash and drink it internally; externally, crush the roots and apply them to swollen and painful areas.
-Treatment for kidney failure, edema, heavy legs, and jaundice:Take 30g of the root of *Cynanchum auriculatum*, 30g of the whole plant of *Plantago major*, 30g of the whole plant of *Chrysanthemum indicum*, and 30g of *Eclipta prostrata*. Boil these ingredients together and drink one dose per day, divided into 2-3 portions, for 7-10 consecutive days.
- Treating mouth and tongue ulcers:Take a handful of Bidens pilosa, soak it in alcohol, chew it, and swallow the juice, or boil it in water and gargle and drink the decoction.
-Treatment for jaundice caused by bile duct obstruction:Take 100g of Bidens pilosa (a type of herb) and one pig liver, cook them together until very tender, strain the liquid and drink it throughout the day.
- Treating malaria with severe coma and critical delirium:Take a large handful (about 30g) of Bidens pilosa leaves; boil them in water and drink the decoction (Nam Duoc Than Hieu - A Vietnamese Traditional Medicine).
- Treating painful urination:Take a handful of *Cynanchum stauntonii* (about 20g); boil it in water and drink the decoction (according to *Nam Duoc Than Hieu*).
- Treatment for cloudy urine:Use 20g of Cynodon dactylon root, 20g of Dioscorea opposita, 40g of Coix lacryma-jobi, 12g of Imperata cylindrica root, 12g of Rhus chinensis root, and 12g of Plantago major (roasted); decoct and drink throughout the day.
-Treatment for common bone lodged in the throat:Take a handful of prickly pear leaves, chew them and swallow the juice, then apply the remaining pulp to your neck.
- Relieving bone pain caused by changes in weather:15-20g of *Cynanchum stauntonii* (Cynanchum stauntonii), roasted until golden brown, then buried in the ground (ground off the ground), decocted in water and drunk throughout the day; drink in cycles (15 days for one course); 40g of *Cynanchum stauntonii* root, 20g of *Piper betle* root, optionally add 40g of *Xanthium strumarium* stem and root; decocted in water and drunk;
- Treating sciatica:Use 20g of Cynodon dactylon root, 16g of Piper betle leaves, 12g of Angelica sinensis, 12g of roasted Alocasia macrorrhiza root, 12g of Caesalpinia sappan, 12g of Cynomorium songaricum, 16g of Eucommia ulmoides, 12g of Artemisia vulgaris, 20g of Coix lacryma-jobi, 12g of pine needles, and 1000ml of water. Boil until 300ml remains; divide into two doses and drink daily.
- Treating allergic rhinitis:Boil 30g of Cynodon dactylon root, 20g each of Polygonum multiflorum leaves and Rhus chinensis in 400ml of water until only 100ml remains. Drink throughout the day, preferably while the decoction is still warm. Use for 5 days.
- Treating irregular menstruation and blood deficiency:20g of Cynodon dactylon root, 16g of Cynodon dactylon (processed), 16g of Leonurus artemisia, 16g of Curcuma longa, 30g of Acanthopanax root, decocted and drunk once a day, divided into 3 doses, for 10 days.
