Con Cuong: Villagers voluntarily handed over 40 homemade guns

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 10, the police of Binh Chuan commune (Con Cuong district) said that the unit had just mobilized people in the commune to hand over 40 homemade guns in Dinh and Na Co villages.

Previously, the commune police had organized a campaign to raise awareness about the harmful effects and dangers of using homemade guns in daily life as well as hunting in the two villages mentioned above. After 4 days of campaigning, most of the people understood and voluntarily brought 40 guns to the commune police. Among them were 37 flintlock guns, 3 alcohol guns, in addition to 1 sword and 4 electric fishing tools.

According to the police of this commune, there is currently a new type of gun that people make themselves, the alcohol gun. This is a silencer gun, used by the force of alcohol vapor, propelling the bullet with marbles, the level of damage is very high, dangerous to life.

After collecting the guns handed over by the villagers, the commune police handed over the weapons to the Con Cuong district police for destruction. The mobilization to hand over homemade guns has contributed to maintaining order and safety at the grassroots level, while preventing the hunting of wild animals that harm the natural environment.
