According to a report from the District People's Committee, from 2015 to present, the entire district has had 493 workers working under contracts abroad; mainly in the markets of Taiwan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.

According to the district's investigation, the average income of workers is 8 - 10 million VND/month and the Korean market is 18 - 25 million VND/month.

Export work contributes to improving people's lives, especially for ethnic minorities, with 363/493 overseas workers being ethnic minorities, accounting for 73.63%.

Besides the number of workers working under official contracts, in Con Cuong area there are currently more than 300 workers working freely in Laos, China, Thailand...

However, from 2015 to now, out of a total of 493 workers going abroad; including 363 ethnic minorities and 109 poor workers, only 46 workers have benefited from the support policy for ethnic minorities, the poor, and near-poor people going abroad according to the Central Government's policies.

After listening to the report of the District People's Committee, the members of the monitoring delegation raised many concerns and asked the District People's Committee and the communes to clarify.

That is the State management of authorities at all levels regarding labor export when there are many workers who go abroad freely; people from enterprises do not directly recruit but use local people; do not fully implement recruitment requirements such as sending people to do procedures first before having the local authorities confirm the documents, working in the wrong profession as initially committed...

It is also the implementation of mechanisms and policies at all levels in labor export for ethnic minorities, the poor and near-poor people that is still limited. The number of labor exports is showing signs of slowing down...

Based on the recognition of difficulties, limitations and recommendations of the locality, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan - Deputy Head of the Culture - Social Committee, Provincial People's Council proposed the People's Committee of Con Cuong district and communes to continue to strengthen the management of labor export; review and promote propaganda as well as issue documents guiding the implementation of labor export mechanisms and policies among officials and beneficiaries; at the same time, propagate to limit risks for workers when participating in voluntary labor export.

Ms. Lan also requested the district and commune to focus on inspection, examination, and timely detection of difficulties, inadequacies, problems, and violations at the grassroots level for timely resolution and handling, in order to protect the rights of workers./.
