Con Cuong focuses on fighting the cold to protect "industry"
(Baonghean.vn) - Cold weather is threatening the western part of Nghe An, including Con Cuong. Currently, most of the buffalo and cow herds in the district have been kept in captivity, their barns are carefully covered, and every household has prepared food reserves for their livestock.
Khe Ran village, Bong Khe commune has 100% Thai people living. The whole village has 345 buffaloes and cows. Normally, people graze buffaloes and cows 1-2 kilometers from their houses. During these rainy and cold winter days, people have kept buffaloes and cows in sheltered barns to provide them with adequate food and water.

Mr. Lo Xuan Noi in Khe Ran Village, Bong Khe Commune said: “In the past, regardless of rain or cold, buffaloes and cows were let loose to graze on the mountains, so they often got cold, hungry and died. Thanks to propaganda officers, the family proactively kept buffaloes and cows in captivity, covered the barns to avoid wind, and fed them enough food to ensure their health.”

Tips to prevent and avoid 4 diseases for cattle in cold weather
(Baonghean.vn) - In winter, low temperatures combined with high humidity make the bodies of buffaloes and cows spend a lot of energy to fight the cold, reducing resistance; creating opportunities for disease-causing microorganisms to invade.
Bong Khe commune currently has nearly 1,500 buffaloes and cows. With the determination not to let livestock go hungry and cold this winter, based on the direction of the province and district, Bong Khe commune has taken active measures to prevent cold for livestock. The commune has established a steering committee to prevent hunger and cold for livestock, and at the same time directed villages and households to focus on preventing cold, checking the number of households with or without barns to mobilize organizations to go to the grassroots to help people build barns.

Mon Son is a highland border commune, with low temperatures and lots of fog in winter. Due to the habit of the mountain people often letting their buffaloes and cows roam freely in the forest, diseases and frostbite often occur. To proactively cope with the weather and protect the herd of nearly 2,000 buffaloes and cows in the commune, from the beginning of winter, the commune has encouraged people to bring their buffaloes and cows home, keep them in barns, and not let them roam freely in the forest.
Learning from experience from previous years, this year, right from the beginning of winter, Con Cuong district has deployed propaganda to villages so that people should not be subjective and negligent in raising livestock, especially buffaloes and cows.
Mr. Vi Van Binh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Con Cuong district said: Con Cuong has 32 thousand buffaloes and cows. Thanks to the promotion of propaganda work since the beginning of the cold season, most of the livestock of local people have been kept in captivity, carefully covered, ensuring food reserves.
