Con Cuong: Growing clean vegetables using high technology.
(Baonghean.vn) - Aiming to produce clean food for tourism, Con Cuong has implemented a project to develop safe vegetables and build a model for producing clean fruits and vegetables.
Pioneering in the cultivation of clean vegetables and melons is the Chi Khe Agricultural Seedling Cooperative. With the cooperative's careful and serious investment, the Con Cuong district has now supported its members with 85% of the funding to build greenhouse systems, ensuring adequate light and temperature, a high-tech automatic drip irrigation system, and training and testing of American melon varieties.

According to the process, the melons are grown and cared for in coconut husk containers mixed with organic fertilizer and irrigated using a drip irrigation system. All are placed in a greenhouse to ensure they are disease-free.
If the model is successful, the product will be sold by the Fruit Import-Export Company. After the American melon variety, the Chi Khe Agricultural Seedling Cooperative will cultivate many other types of vegetable, root, and fruit seedlings to ensure propagation for farmers in the area.

This allows farmers to proactively source their own vegetable and fruit seedlings, enabling them to grow them outdoors in greenhouses as usual. This is a positive sign for the bold application of new techniques and investment in high technology to improve agricultural efficiency in the mountainous district of Con Cuong.
By 2020, Con Cuong aims to develop vegetable production in a specialized manner, generating high income, linking production with processing and product consumption, and making a significant contribution to the district's economic structure.

With a model of linkage between the state, farmers, and businesses, the clean vegetable farming project aims to supply safe vegetables and fruits to local people and tourists, giving them peace of mind when visiting Con Cuong.
The total investment for the project to develop safe vegetables according to VietGAP standards in Con Cuong district from 2016 to 2020 was over 1 billion VND, with Con Cuong district as the main investor.
