Thugs brazenly vandalized a row of boarding houses and chased and beat traffic police.
A group of about 20 young men vandalized a row of boarding houses, using sticks to chase and beat a traffic police officer and the son of the boarding house owner when he tried to stop them, injuring him.
For a long time, the boarding house located in a small alley on Truc Street, Ward 13, Binh Thanh District has been home to poor workers who work as scrap collectors and garbage collectors.
Recently, a group of thugs broke in and vandalized the area, making everyone feel uneasy, because currently the residents here do not have stable housing, and are more worried about when these thugs will come back to cause trouble again.
The boarding house had its wall smashed by a group of thugs. |
According to the residents here, at around 2:00 p.m. on April 9, people saw a group of more than 20 people sitting at a nearby coffee shop. At 4:00 p.m., the group suddenly broke into the above row of rented rooms, cut all the electrical wires, then removed the corrugated iron roof, broke the walls and took many properties of 6 rented rooms.
At this time, there were many women and children sleeping in the room, but these subjects continued to smash things, causing everyone to panic and run away to escape.
When discovering the landlord's son and the traffic police officer, the thugs became even more aggressive, using sticks and crowbars to beat and chase the landlord's son, injuring him.
Mr. H. (officer of the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police) said: "In the afternoon of the same day, I received a phone call from my family reporting that a group of more than 20 young men with weapons broke into my boarding house. Immediately, I returned home from the unit, and on the way, I stopped by the ward police station to ask for help," Mr. H. shared.
Accordingly, two ward police officers accompanied Mr. H. to the scene to resolve the incident. When they arrived, the group was still breaking down walls, removing corrugated iron roofs, and cutting electric wires. "When they discovered that I was with two ward police officers, one of the group pointed at my face and cursed. Then, the whole group attacked me, causing me to suffer a head injury and had to be hospitalized," said Mr. H.
