Che Linh's daughter cried as she recounted her life without a father.

Le Thi - contestant on the show "Born to be a pair" - is the fourth child of the famous singer but has lived with her mother since childhood and has not seen her father for decades.

The first episode of the show aired on the evening of February 18 with a singing competition between 12 contestants.Judge Dam Vinh Hung surprised the audience when he revealed that contestant Le Thi is the daughter of overseas singer Che Linh.

Behind the scenes, Le Thi choked up and said: "I am Che Linh's daughter but I rarely met him. From childhood to adulthood, I lived with my mother. The middle name 'Le' sounds sad but also because when I was pregnant until giving birth, my mother cried more than she was happy. The journey my mother took to raise, care for, and shoulder the hardships of my four siblings is beyond words. Why did I take the middle name Che Thi, it's so strange."

Le Thi is 48 years old this year. According to the program's producer, Che Linh went abroad to live when Le Thi was six years old and since then, the father and son have hardly seen each other.Le Thi got married but the marriage was not successful. She currently lives in Ho Chi Minh City with her two children and her mother.

During the show, Le Thi sang "Bien Can" with a deep voice, winning Thanh Ha's heart. The female judge even improvised and supported Che Linh's daughter in a few lines. Thanh Ha commented: "You have a very beautiful deep voice, when you sing the middle notes, it's hoarse and strange. You chose the song, staged it well, and the costume was also very beautiful. I like your performance."

"Heaven Born A Pair" is the Vietnamese version of the singing competition "It Take 2" which was licensed from the Netherlands. This is a program for famous people in many different fields and professions to compete in singing.

Episode two of the show will air at 9pm on February 25.
