Obama's daughter appears next to a glass jar used to smoke marijuana

A photo circulating on social media appears to show Malia Obama near what appears to be a glass vessel used to smoke marijuana.

The photo was taken at a University of Pennsylvania dormitory last weekend, according to Radar Online. The 18-year-old girl was wearing a T-shirt with the words "Smoking kills". She appeared with the same shirt at a festival in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that same day.

The photo doesn't actually show Malia smoking marijuana, and in fact, the glass vase appears to have been discontinued at the time the photo was taken. But after a string of scandals, the photo was seen as damaging to the president's daughter's image.

In July, the eldest daughter of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle was caught smoking marijuana at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago. At the same festival, Malia became the center of attention when she lifted her skirt and danced sexily with a group of friends while enjoying the performances of artists.

Malia graduated from Sidwell Friends School in Washington in June. She decided to take a year off before officially enrolling at Harvard University next fall.
