Drug addict who hid drugs in helmet sentenced
(Baonghean.vn) - Chuong confessed that he was addicted so he bought drugs from a man named Trung in Binh Chuan (Con Cuong) to use. On the way from his house to Quy Hop town, he was arrested by the police with the evidence.
On October 30, the People's Court of Quy Hop district opened a public trial of the criminal case against defendant Ngo Van Chuong (born in 1979), residing in Chau Thai commune (Quy Hop) for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".
According to the indictment: At 5:30 p.m. on September 4, 2018, the traffic police team of Quy Hop Public Security was patrolling at the gate of block 20, Quy Hop town when they discovered that Ngo Van Chuong was acting suspiciously, so they conducted an administrative check and discovered that inside the helmet Chuong was wearing were 2 small packages wrapped in moisture-proof paper from cigarette packs, containing white powder.

The investigation agency opened the seal to determine the weight and took samples for examination. The results showed that the two packages of white powder seized from Ngo Van Chuong were heroin weighing 0.225g.
At the investigation agency, Chuong admitted that he was an addict, so at 11:00 a.m. on September 4, 2018, someone called Chuong and introduced himself as Trung from Pot village, Binh Chuan commune (Con Cuong) and asked if Chuong wanted to buy drugs or not, and Chuong agreed to deliver the drugs at the intersection of Chau Thanh commune (Quy Hop).
Here, after taking a package of drugs from Trung for 300,000 VND, Chuong ran home, divided it into 2 small packages wrapped in cigarette paper and hid it inside a motorbike helmet. At around 4:00 p.m. the same day, Chuong went to the green light and red light intersection in block 20 and was arrested by the traffic police team of Quy Hop police along with the evidence.
Regarding the man named Trung who sold drugs to Ngo Van Chuong, through investigation, the investigating agency has no basis to prosecute.
The People's Court sentenced defendant Ngo Van Chuong to 18 months in prison for "Illegal possession of narcotics".
