Addict stole 13 motorbikes to get money to spend
(Baonghean.vn) - Cao Van Tam (residing in Yen Thanh district) committed 13 motorbike thefts to sell for money. The thefts all occurred in houses close together and in the late afternoon.
The Investigation Police Agency of Yen Thanh District Police (Nghe An) has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused Cao Van Tam (born in 1987), residing in Dien Cat Commune, Dien Chau District, for the act of "Theft of property".
Previously, in early February 2020, motorbike thefts occurred continuously in Yen Thanh and Dien Chau districts. Notably, the thefts occurred in houses close together and in the late afternoon. Faced with this situation, Yen Thanh District Police established a special project to combat the crime.

Through investigation and verification, the Task Force identified the perpetrator of this series of thefts as Cao Van Tam (born in 1987), residing in Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district. The subject is a drug addict and has no stable job.
On February 25, the Investigation Police Agency of Yen Thanh District detained Cao Van Tam in an emergency for the crime of "Theft of property". They seized 5 motorbikes and 2 mobile phones from his home. At the investigation agency, Cao Van Tam bowed his head and admitted his guilt, he confessed that he committed the crime because he needed money to spend. Before "acting", the subject "surveyed" favorable locations, then watched when people left their motorbikes in the yard without taking out the keys, waiting for the opportunity to steal property.
Initially, Yen Thanh District Police clarified that the subject had committed 13 motorbike thefts in Yen Thanh and Dien Chau districts. After committing the theft, Tam and Doan Van Hung (born in 1982), residing in Hop Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District, together sold the motorbikes at a low price and divided the profits.
The Investigation Police Agency of Yen Thanh District has initiated a case and prosecuted Cao Van Tam for "Theft of property" and Doan Van Hung for receiving property obtained by others through crime. At the same time, the District Police continue to expand the investigation and collect evidence to return to the victims.
