According to initial information, at around 4:30 p.m. on May 14, Mr. Ton Thanh Viet (34 years old, living in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City), Mr. Nam's son-in-law, came home from drinking and stood in front of the house cursing his wife's family.

At this time, seeing Ms. Ng.D. (29 years old, Viet's sister-in-law) coming home from work, Viet approached and pushed Ms. D. down. Angry at his son-in-law's actions, Mr. Nam rushed out of the house with a cleaver and slashed Viet many times on the head and shoulder, causing him to die on the spot.

Then, Mr. Nam used a motorbike to carry Viet's body to the ward police station to surrender.
