On the morning of January 21, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Long - Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh), confirmed that the house of Mr. Pham Van Th. (60 years old), residing in Van Thanh Commune, was burned down during the night.
Initial information, on the evening of January 20, Pham Van Su (37 years old, son of Mr. Th.) went to watch the football match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Iraq. After the match ended, Su got drunk, bought gasoline and then returned to his parents' house.
The man took a can of gasoline and went to the kitchen, then suddenly poured gasoline and lit a fire. When his parents discovered the incident, they called for help from the locals. The fire was so big that it quickly burned down the house.
According to Mr. Long, Su was married, but had an abnormal temperament and often quarreled with his parents. At first, Su only set fire to the kitchen, but unexpectedly the fire spread quickly and caught fire in the house above.
There is currently no exact information about the cause of the burning of the parents' kitchen. However, it is possible that the reason for the burning was due to participating in gambling but losing money, so he got angry and did the above action.
