Police investigate case of dozens of sacks of dead pigs dumped into river in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Que Phong District People's Committee is directing the District Police to coordinate with Dong Van Commune authorities to investigate the subject who dumped dead pigs on Nam Hat River.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of November 3, people in Dong Van commune (Que Phong) discovered dozens of sacks of pork thrown on the Nam Hat riverbed, right at the foot of Na Chao bridge.
Mr. Luong Thai Quy - Chairman of Dong Van Commune People's Committee said that after receiving the information, the commune authorities sent forces and excavators to the scene to collect and destroy all the sacks containing pork. Upon inspection, it was found that there were 14 sacks in total, each containing several pieces of pork. The locality is currently continuing to implement measures to prevent and control African swine fever.

Immediately after the incident of dumping dead pigs in Dong Van commune, on the morning of November 4, the District People's Committee assigned the District Police to coordinate with local authorities to investigate and clarify the subject who intentionally dumped dead pigs indiscriminately to handle according to the law.
According to data from the Que Phong District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station, by early November, African swine fever had spread to 12/14 communes and towns of the district. The number of pigs forced to be destroyed due to the disease was 2,500, with a total weight of nearly 123 tons.
