In the first 6 months of the year, closely following the profound and comprehensive leadership and direction of the Central Party Committee of the Public Security, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee; the guidance and assistance of the General Departments, Commands and Departments under the Ministry of Public Security; the coordination, assistance and enthusiastic support of Party committees, authorities at all levels, departments, branches, unions and people of the province, Nghe An Public Security has made great efforts to overcome all difficulties and successfully completed the set goals and programs.

The sector has actively and proactively advised the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue directives, projects, plans, and dispatches to direct the work of ensuring security and order; been proactive, creative, and sensitive in grasping, analyzing, synthesizing, and accurately forecasting the situation; promptly advised the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee to effectively direct the resolution of emerging incidents related to national security; and prevented sudden, unexpected, and complicated hot spots of security and order from forming.

Resolutely deploy preventive measures, effectively combat all types of crimes, prevent the formation of organized crimes, and operate in the style of "mafia". The rate of investigation and clarification of cases of violating social order and safety reached 83.5%, arresting 694 subjects, 14 guns, and seizing many other related exhibits with a total value of about 6.5 billion VND; detecting and arresting 621 cases, 782 subjects of drug crimes, seizing 32.2 kg of heroin, 46.9 kg of crystal meth, 6.3 kg of synthetic drugs, 1.2 kg of marijuana... eliminating 25 major drug rings; detecting, arresting, and handling 2,064 cases, 2,183 subjects violating the law on economic management, positions, and the environment, seizing 5.5 tons of firecrackers, 26.2 tons of animals, and many smuggled goods, and trade fraud worth nearly 15 billion VND; Arrested and persuaded 131 wanted criminals to surrender, including 31 dangerous and especially dangerous wanted criminals...

At the conference, Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau reported on the basic contents of the first 6-month review conference of the Ministry of Public Security in 2018 and thoroughly grasped Conclusion No. 32 of the Politburo. At the same time, he pointed out 9 key tasks for the last 6 months of 2018 to ensure national security and maintain social order and safety in Nghe An province.
