Nghe An police busted a gambling ring in Hoang Mai with over 60 billion VND

On May 31, 2021, the Criminal Police Department - Nghe An Police said that the unit had just dismantled a gambling ring in the form ofonline lottery bettingwith the amount of money up to more than 60 billion VND, arrested 9 subjects.

Previously, through the work of grasping the situation on the route and key areas, in early February 2021, the Criminal Police Department discovered in Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province, a gambling ring in the form of lottery recording with a huge amount of winnings and losses led by Le Van Dan (born 1972), residing in Quynh Xuan ward, Hoang Mai town, Nghe An.

During the investigation, it was determined that Le Van Dan had close connections with many subjects in the area, operated discreetly, used modern technological equipment and became a professional gambling ring, operating sophisticatedly and complicatedly, with many prominent gamblers.

After a period of urgent and synchronous application of forces, means, and professional measures, and collecting full information and evidence of the subjects' activities, on May 28, 2021, the Special Investigation Committee decided to establish 09 working groups, simultaneously searched the residences, and arrested 09 subjects at different locations.

Among them, 2 subjects reside in Quynh Xuan ward, Hoang Mai town: Le Van Dan (born in 1972), Le Khac Trieu (born in 1969); the remaining 7 subjects reside in Quynh Lien commune, Hoang Mai town: Ho Van Hoang (born in 1980), Dau Van Vi (born in 1981), Nguyen Thi Dan (born in 1974), Nguyen Thi Quynh (born in 1971), Ho Van Hai (born in 1979), Nguyen Van Que (born in 1983), Tran Thi Soa (born in 1984).

Confiscated evidence includes: 9 mobile phones of various types, 1 computer, 165 million VND, 1 car with license plate 37A - 01007 and 2 ATM cards along with many books and documents related to lottery gambling activities.

The initial investigation determined that from the end of February 2021 to May 27, 2021, the subjects used more than 60 billion VND for gambling. On May 27, 2021 alone, it was proven that the above subjects used about more than 1.7 billion VND for gambling.

Currently, the Criminal Police Department PC02 has detained the above 9 subjects and called on related subjects in the network to quickly surrender to enjoy leniency of the law.
