Nghe An police looking for victims of fraud to be taken to Korea

On the morning of November 2, Nghe An police said they were investigating the criminal case of Pham Thi Phuong Loan (born in 1990, residing in village 5, Vu Doai commune, Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province) for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" that occurred in Nghe An province.
According to the police, in early December 2017, Ms. Nguyen Thi Van (born in 1985, residing in Xuan Duong hamlet, Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc district) contacted to receive more than 1.533 billion VND and the documents of 16 people with registered residence in Nghe An province to ask someone to complete procedures to travel to Korea.
Because of trust, Ms. Van asked Pham Thi Phuong Loan (under the name of another person, Nguyen Thanh Be) to complete the procedures for traveling to Korea at a cost of 6,500 USD/person. Of which, 1,500 USD is the total cost of traveling to Korea, and 5,000 USD is the cost of preventing escape to stay in Korea after the travel period expires.
However, Ms. Van was scammed by Pham Thi Phuong Loan and appropriated more than 1.533 billion VND. During the investigation, Ms. Van confessed that she could no longer remember the names and addresses of the 16 people above. In addition, after being scammed of more than 1.533 billion VND, Ms. Van voluntarily used her money to fully repay these 16 people.
On July 20, 2018, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province issued a decision to prosecute the criminal case and a decision to prosecute the accused Nguyen Thi Phuong Loan for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property". The accused Loan is currently being detained at the Detention Center of Nghe An Province Police.
