The police in Quynh Thien ward, Hoang Mai town, have just promptly prevented a case where a citizen transferred 100 million VND to an individual impersonating a police officer to scam and steal money online.

At approximately 2 PM on April 10th, while on duty at the unit, Captain Nguyen Cong Than - Deputy Head of the Quynh Thien Ward Police Station - noticed a woman standing in front of the unit's headquarters exhibiting signs of panic and anxiety.

Comrade Thận immediately approached and inquired, learning that she was a resident of Quỳnh Thiện ward (born in 1959).

According to Ms. Tr., she had previously received a phone call from a man claiming to be a police officer, informing her that she had violated the law and instructing her not to contact her family and to transfer 100 million VND to him for verification related to the alleged violation.

Due to insufficient funds in her account, Ms. Tr. hurriedly brought more money to a bank located in Thinh My block, Quynh Thien ward, to transfer funds.

Realizing that Ms. Tr. had been lured and scammed online, Captain Nguyen Cong Than explained the situation thoroughly to her. Afterward, Ms. Tr. abandoned her intention to transfer money to the scammer at the bank and returned home.

Through this, the police recommend that people raise their awareness and not listen to or follow the instructions of strangers to avoid being scammed.

In addition, if you notice any suspicious signs, report them immediately to the nearest police force to prevent them in time and avoid unfortunate consequences.
