Police - Army strengthen coordination in performing defense and security tasks
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 31, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense jointly organized a conference to review the first 6 months of 2020 at 64 locations nationwide.
The conference was co-chaired by Major General Tran Quoc To - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Minister of National Defense.

In the first 6 months of 2020, the People's Public Security and People's Army forces have coordinated to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement Decree 03; advised the Party and State to promptly and effectively handle complicated situations related to national defense and security, avoiding being passive and surprised; and promoted the vanguard and core role on the front line of Covid-19 prevention and control.
The coordination between the two forces has made an important contribution to firmly protecting territorial sovereignty, maintaining political stability, social order and security, and actively serving the country's socio-economic development and foreign affairs tasks.
At the conference, the delegates pointed out the causes, lessons and difficulties in the coordination between the two forces. At the same time, they contributed many ideas and recommendations to make the coordination between the two forces faster, tighter and more effective.
Concluding the conference, Major General Tran Quoc To requested the two forces and relevant agencies and local authorities to continue to coordinate more actively to facilitate and effectively implement Decree 03.
In particular, the two local police and military forces need to proactively, actively and creatively coordinate with each other according to regulations to be able to complete their tasks, not to be passive or surprised; to grasp and forecast the situation early to advise the Party, the State and local Party committees and authorities to quickly and effectively resolve arising incidents, protect national security, fight against crime and increasingly effectively fulfill national defense tasks./.
