(Baonghean.vn) - On October 22, information from the Thanh Chuong District Police stated that they have initiated a criminal case and temporarily detained Nguyen Cong Viet (born in 1988), Le Xuan Thang (born in 1989), Nguyen Van Tho (born in 1990), and Thai Huu Loi (born in 1995), all residing in Xuan Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district), to investigate the act of "theft of property".

When the police apprehended Nguyen Cong Viet, the other three suspects abandoned their motorbikes and quickly fled the scene.
The items seized at the scene included 3 dog catching rods, 3 dogs, 2 motorbikes, and a sword. Based on Viet's confession, the Thanh Chuong District Police arrested Thang, Tho, and Loi.
Initially, at the investigative agency, the group confessed that Viet was the ringleader of a dog theft gang operating in the districts of Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, etc., and bringing the dogs to Yen Thanh to sell for money to spend.
From August 2014 to the present, this group successfully carried out 7 robberies, stealing dozens of dogs. The investigating agency also clarified that Nguyen Cong Viet had a prior conviction for robbery and had just been released from prison at the end of 2013, while Le Xuan Thang had a prior conviction for theft.
