Vinh City Police commend exemplary individuals for their contributions to national security.

(Baonghean.vn) - On April 18th, the Vinh City Police Department held a ceremony to commend outstanding individuals and groups in the "For National Security" emulation movement during the 2010-2015 period.

Outstanding collectives and individuals were honored in the "For National Security" movement during the period 2010 - 2015.

With the slogan "City police officers and soldiers united, disciplined, responsible and effective," over the past five years, the Vinh City Police Department has launched 25 emulation campaigns throughout the unit. City police officers and soldiers have effectively implemented Resolution 08 of the Politburo on the national security strategy, and have performed well in the fight against crime and drug trafficking in the new situation.

Over the past five years, Vinh City Police have investigated and clarified 1,596 criminal cases, arrested 2,176 suspects, dismantled 229 criminal gangs, seized 44 firearms, 20 kg of explosives, and 671 motorcycles. They also dismantled 17 drug trafficking rings, 4 major drug hotspots, and 347 drug retail points. They arrested 1,311 cases involving 1,487 drug offenders, seizing 14,612 grams of heroin, methamphetamine, synthetic drugs, and cannabis. They also apprehended 392 cases involving 466 economic criminals and detected and processed 1,500 cases involving 4,638 gambling offenders.

In the nationwide movement to protect national security, the City Police have effectively maintained 23 models for ensuring security and order in wards and communes. For five consecutive years, the City Police have been awarded the excellent emulation flag by the Ministry of Public Security for leading the movement for national security. Many collectives and individuals have received commendations from the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial People's Committee.

On this occasion, the City Police commended and rewarded 6 outstanding collectives and 15 outstanding individuals in the emulation movement to protect national security during the period 2010 - 2015.
