Police summoned the person who dumped dead pigs on the bridge in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The man confessed that he was transporting the pig to the landfill to throw it away, but it fell on the road so he left it there.
On the morning of October 25, the police of Hoa Hieu ward, Thai Hoa town summoned Mr. Pham Van Minh - born in 1963, residing in hamlet 2, Nghia Thang commune, Nghia Dan district to clarify the act of dumping dead pigs on Hieu I bridge.
According to Mr. Pham Van Minh's statement, his family raises and sells pork. About a week ago, they bought 4 piglets, each weighing an average of more than 20kg, to raise. By the afternoon of October 21, 1 of the 4 died, for unknown reasons.

Early morning on October 22, Mr. Minh transported finished pork to Hieu market, Hoa Hieu ward, Thai Hoa town to sell as usual, along with a dead piglet, with the intention of taking it to Hieu market's landfill to dispose of. While crossing Hieu I bridge (around 5am), the dead pig skin fell down. Seeing that the area was deserted, Mr. Minh threw the skin on the bridge and continued straight to Hieu market to sell meat.

Mr. Pham Van Minh's act of dumping poultry carcasses into the environment violated Clause 6, Article 5 of Decree 90 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the veterinary field.
In another development, on the same day, speaking with reporters, Mr. Le Dinh Thanh - Vice Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee said that the district has directed the police to investigate and verify the subject who dumped bags of dead pigs in Ru Nguoc area, Ngoc Son commune to handle according to the provisions of law.

Besides, Thanh Chuong district also directed communes to strengthen propaganda work, regularly inspect and monitor river, lake and ditch areas, especially in localities where epidemics have occurred.
Previously, on the morning of October 23, people in Ru Nguoc area (Thanh Chuong) discovered dozens of sacks of dead pigs thrown into the sewer near Lam river, emitting a foul smell, and reported it to local authorities for handling.

Mr. Thai Van An - Chairman of Ngoc Son Commune People's Committee said: Ru Nguoc area is a hot spot for the situation of dumping animal carcasses and garbage haphazardly, causing environmental pollution. The subjects often take advantage of the dark, when there are few people passing by to carry out this behavior. We are currently proposing to the district to arrange the installation of a camera system in this area.
In addition to strictly prohibiting the dumping of pig carcasses, Thanh Chuong district is also directing the district's Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station to coordinate with the police force to increase inspection and screening of vehicles transporting pigs in and out of the area.
Currently, in Thanh Chuong district, there are 26 communes with African swine fever that have not passed 30 days of the epidemic. The number of pigs that had to be destroyed was 5,531, with a total weight of over 195 tons of live pigs.
