Phu Nhuan District Police, Ho Chi Minh City are investigating a group of thugs who used weapons to slash a ward police officer and a civilian security guard, injuring them and requiring hospitalization.

According to initial investigation, at around 7:00 p.m. on March 6, a man, his wife and young child went to a restaurant on Phan Xich Long Street, Ward 2, Phu Nhuan District and got into an argument with the restaurant staff.

A group of people smashed a glass cabinet after a conflict.

Suddenly, the customer called a taxi for his wife and children to go home first, while he drove his motorbike in another direction. A moment later, this person returned to the restaurant with a group of 4 young men holding weapons, stormed into the restaurant, smashed glass cabinets, tables and chairs, causing the customers sitting in the restaurant to run away in panic.

At this moment, Lieutenant Bui Minh Nhut (Police of Ward 2, Phu Nhuan District) and a civilian guard who were on patrol discovered the incident and immediately intervened. However, the group remained aggressive, even using weapons to slash Lieutenant Nhut and the civilian guard, seriously injuring them.

After committing the crime, the group left the scene. Lieutenant Nhut and the security guard were taken to the hospital by local people to treat their injuries.

Upon receiving the report, Phu Nhuan District Police arrived at the scene to examine the crime scene and extract images from security cameras to track down the group of thugs.
