Police investigate the person spreading false news about the dam collapse at Ban Ve Hydropower Plant
In response to false information spreading on social networks about the collapse of the Ban Ve Hydropower Dam, Nghe An Provincial Police have stepped in to verify the subject spreading false information, causing public panic and affecting security and order in the area.
This fake information appeared on the afternoon of July 27, on a number of social media accounts, then was shared by many people, causing a stir in the community, especially among people in the downstream area of Nam Non River. Immediately after that, Mr. Ta Huu Hung - Director of Ban Ve Hydropower Company spoke out to deny this information, affirming that it was an untrue rumor.

On his personal Facebook page, Mr. Hung posted actual photos of the dam area and wrote:“The dam is currently operating.safeallAt the same time, he said, over the past few days, the factory has continuously coordinated with local authorities and functional agencies to monitor the flood situation, regulate the reservoir appropriately, and ensure the safety of the project and downstream areas.
“We check and monitor the dam’s condition 24/7. All construction systems are operating normally, without any signs of abnormality,” Mr. Hung emphasized.

He also asked people not to share or spread unverified information to avoid causing public panic. All official information related to the operation of the Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir will be announced through the press, government and local media channels.
Currently, the police are verifying the person spreading the rumor to strictly handle it according to the law.
