Commune police control subject using knife to threaten passersby
The incident occurred at around 1:40 p.m. on April 30, on the inter-commune road in Doi hamlet, Vu Binh commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province, where a man showing signs of mental illness used a knife (a 50cm long knife) to threaten and intimidate passersby.
At this time, although there were no injuries, the man's behavior caused panic among the people and obstructed traffic.
As soon as the incident was reported, Vu Binh Commune Police and local security forces were deployed to the scene to handle the incident.

It took about 1 hour of persuasion, dissuasion, and calming down the excitement and tension, and using professional measures, the police force was able to control the subject, take away the knife, and ensure the safety of the force involved in handling the incident, the subject, and the people.
The subject's full name is BVK (born in 1985), residing in Doi hamlet, Vu Binh commune, is mentally ill.
Afterwards, Vu Binh Commune Police assisted the family in bringing the subject home. The family arranged a separate, solid room to ensure management and said that after the holiday, the subject would be taken to a mental hospital for treatment.
