Tuong Duong Commune Police fined a subject who posted false information about a village chief on social media.

Tuong Duong Commune Police (Nghe An) have just imposed an administrative fine of 7.5 million VND on LV Ph. for posting false information about a village chief on social media.

Accordingly, through monitoring the situation on cyberspace, the Commune Police discovered a Facebook social network account named “Ph. L. Kh.” spreading a live video insulting the reputation, honor, and dignity of a village chief. This video attracted hundreds of likes, comments, and shares.

Tuong Duong Commune Police have verified, clarified and summoned the Facebook account owner to work.

Upon verification, the owner of this Facebook account is LV Ph. (born in 1987), residing in Tuong Duong commune, Nghe An province. Ph. confessed that he was the one who created, managed, used, and only knew the password of the Facebook account “Ph. L. Kh.”

The subject also admitted that he had previously posted a live video with false content, insulting the reputation of agencies, organizations, honor and dignity of individuals, causing misunderstandings for social network users.

After being informed and explained by the police about violations of the law on cyber security, LV Ph. realized that his violations were due to lack of understanding.

Tuong Duong Commune Police issued a Decision to administratively fine LV Ph. with the amount of 7.5 million VND.

The police also recommend that people do not share inaccurate, untrue information, fake news on social networks or unverified news.
