The OSCE has published a report on the assassination attempt on the head of the self-proclaimed Lugansk Republic Igor Plotnitsky. |
"The SMM was able to determine that the explosion was probably caused by an improvised explosive device (estimated to contain approximately 1 kg of high explosive), placed next to or above the lamppost, approximately two metres away from the vehicle, which had been damaged and lying on the side of the road," the report said.
According to the head of the press service of the LNR Foreign Ministry Evgenya Lyubenko, several options for what happened are currently being considered, including the activities of Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
Igor Plotnitsky himself claimed that his assassination was organized by the Ukrainian security services. This was stated in an audiotape posted on the official website of the head of the LNR.
