The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced the list of majors eligible for direct admission. Accordingly, for candidates who win prizes in the national excellent student competition, depending on the subject in which they won the prize, the Ministry stipulates the corresponding majors they can register to study.

Among them, students excelling in biology had the highest number of chosen majors, with 23 different fields across healthcare, agriculture, and biology.

Students who win awards in literature have the second highest number of choices for direct admission to majors, with 10 different majors in the fields of literature and social sciences; students who excel in geography also have up to 8 options…

Candidates should check the specific list of majors that are considered for admission based on subjects in which students achieve excellent academic results.HERE.

In addition to the majors stipulated by the Ministry, schools may add relevant and related majors for each subject in the national excellent student competition, in accordance with the entrance requirements of the school's training programs.

If universities decide not to continue direct admission to certain majors that are directly related or closely aligned with the subjects of the national excellent student competition, they must report to the Ministry of Education and Training and publicly announce this on their websites and other mass media outlets at least three years before implementation.

For candidates who win prizes in the national science and technology competition, based on the results of their science and technology research projects and the list of relevant and related majors stipulated by the Ministry, the leaders of the universities will consider direct admission to a major that is suitable to the results of the winning project or research topic.

Candidates who win prizes in the national excellent student selection exam or the national science and technology competition, if they have not yet graduated from high school, will have their eligibility reserved for direct admission (or priority consideration) after graduation, according to the regulations of the universities in the year the candidate won the prize.

The Ministry also stipulates quotas for direct admission and priority consideration for admission.

Accordingly, the total number of students admitted directly and through priority consideration shall not be lower than the number of students admitted directly and through priority consideration to the university in 2014. Of this, the number of students admitted directly to the university in new majors announced by the university (outside the list of majors stipulated by the Ministry) shall not exceed 25% of the total number of students admitted directly in 2014.

The number of students admitted directly to schools that did not implement direct admission in 2014 must not exceed 0.25% of the school's total enrollment quota.

The admissions process follows the principle of considering applications to the correct major first, followed by applications to related majors.

The Ministry of Education and Training also requires schools to publicly announce the criteria and procedures for considering and ranking majors for direct admission and priority admission on the school's website, the Ministry's entrance examination information website, and through mass media.
