Announcing the list of nominations for the 2015 'Asian Oscars'

Taiwanese filmmaker Hou Hsiao-hsien's film The Assassin has led the 2015 Golden Horse Awards nominations in Asia, with 11 nominations.

Specifically, the film The Legend of Nie was nominated in the categories of Best Director (Hou Hsiao-Hsien), Best Actress (Shu Qi) and Best Screenplay.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese director Zhang Zuoji's film Say (Drunk) received 10 nominations. Jia Zhangke's film The Legend of the Condor Heroes was nominated in the Best Screenplay category.

Hou Hsiao-Hsien will be honored with the "Best Filmmaker in Taiwan" award.

Mainland director Feng Xiaogang, whose films include 1942, The World Without Thieves, and The Great Earthquake of Tangshan, is nominated for Best Actor for his performance in Mr. Six, directed by Guan Hu.

When the film was screened at the Venice Film Festival, Feng Xiaogang's performance surprised the Chinese and overseas media. Nominated in the same category as director Feng were mainland actor Deng Chao (The Sun Before the Heart) and newcomer Dong Zijian (Delan).

In the Best Actress category, there are Lam Ka-Hin (Farewell), Truong Ai-Kai (Splendid Office World), Trieu Dao (Old Friends), Tong Van-Hoa (My Girlhood) and Shu Qi (Nie Yinniang).

At this year's awards ceremony, Hou Hsiao-Hsien will be honored with the "most outstanding filmmaker in Taiwan" award, in recognition of his contributions to the art of filmmaking over the years.

According to the latest announcement from the organizing committee, Hong Kong singer Eason Chan and Taiwanese singer Rainie Yang will perform at this year's awards ceremony, which will be held on November 21./.
