Announcement of the decision to appoint Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department

On the morning of March 29, the Central Propaganda Department held a conference to announce the Secretariat's decision on personnel work.

At the conference, comrade Phan Thang An, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, announced the decision of the Secretariat to appoint comrade Vu Thanh Mai, Chief of the Office of the Central Propaganda Department, to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, presented the decision to comrade Vu Thanh Mai.

Presenting the decision and giving the assignment, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia said that the new Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vu Thanh Mai is in charge of the field of science and education. Comrade Vu Thanh Mai is a cadre with basic training, has experienced many tasks, and in any position, always strives and completes the assigned tasks well. In the new position, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia believes that Comrade Vu Thanh Mai will continue to promote the results and strive to excellently complete the assigned tasks.

“As a propaganda officer, at the strategic level, one must always be steadfast and firm, especially in having a steadfast stance and courage in handling situations to always be loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, the people and the propaganda cause,” Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized.

In his acceptance speech, the new Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Vu Thanh Mai, expressed his gratitude to the Party, the Secretariat, the leaders of the Central Organization Department, and the Central Propaganda Department for their trust in assigning him the task and promised to do his best to work with the leadership of the Department to build great solidarity and successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Comrade Vu Thanh Mai was born in 1973, from Nam Dinh; has a PhD in Physics; senior political theory.

During his career, comrade Vu Thanh Mai was a member of the Central Inspection Committee of the Youth Union; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee and then Head of the Central Youth Union's School Youth Committee; Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association.

From February 2013 to August 2020, he was Deputy Head of Department, Secretary of Party Cell of General Department, Central Propaganda Department.

From September 2020 to March 2023, he held the position of Chief of Office of the Central Propaganda Department.

In addition to Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia, the Central Propaganda Department currently has 7 deputy heads, including comrades: Lai Xuan Mon, permanent deputy head, Le Hai Binh, Phan Xuan Thuy, Tran Thanh Lam, Vu Thanh Mai, two concurrent deputy heads are Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh./.
