Announcement of the Politburo's decision on permanent members participating in the Central Theoretical Council

Comrades participating in the Standing Committee of the Central Theoretical Council for the 2021-2026 term.

At the ceremony, comrade Hoang Dang Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission, announced the Politburo's Decision on appointing comrades to participate in the Standing Committee of the Central Theoretical Council for the 2021-2026 term.

According to the Politburo's Decision, Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, full-time Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council for the 2016-2021 term, was appointed as Permanent Vice Chairman. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of Public Security; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Linh, full-time Vice Chairman for the 2016-2021 term, were appointed as full-time Vice Chairman of the Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Comrade Bui Nhat Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, is concurrently Vice President and Dr. Bui Truong Giang, former Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, is Vice President and General Secretary of the Council.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council for the 2021-2026 term, on behalf of the Politburo, presented the Decision to the comrades participating in the Standing Committee of the Central Theoretical Council for the new term.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang stated that at the 13th National Party Congress, theoretical work was emphasized and oriented very specifically, associated with building and rectifying a clean and strong Party in all aspects; directly building the Party in terms of politics, ideology, and theory, with high requirements: "Raising the theoretical thinking of the Party, promoting practical summarization, theoretical research, promptly providing scientific basis for planning the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws."

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that, in order to serve that great task, the Central Theoretical Council must focus on further improving the quality of summarizing practices associated with theoretical research on the basis of firmly grasping and creatively applying the dialectical materialist methodology of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought; improving the quality and effectiveness of consultation on political theory, helping the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat lead and direct the cause of national construction and defense.

The Central Theoretical Council needs to be proactive and play a good role as a focal point in coordinating with research institutions, central departments, ministries, branches, local Party committees, agencies and cadres researching political theory nationwide in summarizing practices and researching theory; continue to expand and improve the quality and effectiveness of international cooperation in the field of exchange and research on political theory, and successfully complete important tasks assigned by the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Executive Committee.

The Central Theoretical Council is an advisory body to the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat on political theory issues, serving as a basis for planning, perfecting, and developing the Party's guidelines and policies, state-level scientific programs and topics on political theory, directly serving the leadership and direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Executive Committee of the Party.

Also on the afternoon of August 6, the Central Propaganda Department held a conference to implement the Politburo's decision on personnel work.

At the conference, comrade Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, announced Decision No. 180-QDNS/TW of the Politburo appointing comrade Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department and to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association for the 2020-2025 term.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, presented the decision and flowers to congratulate comrade Le Quoc Minh.

Speaking at the decision-giving ceremony, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that comrade Le Quoc Minh is a well-trained cadre with solid professional and technical expertise in journalism, has held many different positions, and has made many positive contributions to the country's journalism career.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department hopes that in his new position, Comrade Le Quoc Minh will quickly approach the work, coordinate with the leadership of the Central Propaganda Department, and make efforts with the entire propaganda sector to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Politburo and the Secretariat. At the same time, in his position as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, he will build, consolidate, and enhance the position and prestige of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new term.

Speaking on receiving the new assignment, comrade Le Quoc Minh expressed his honor and pride, promising to make continuous efforts to learn, quickly catch up with new work and tasks, promote his capacity, and contribute to the common success that the Politburo and Secretariat have trusted and entrusted./.
