Announcement of the establishment of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve

(Baonghean) - On the morning of June 23, in Que Phong district, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the People's Committee of Que Phong district to announce Decision No. 340/QD-UBND to convert the Que Phong district protective forest management board into Pu Hoat Nature Reserve in Que Phong district.

Attending the event were Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Que Phong district.

Pu Hoat Nature Reserve has a total area of ​​over 90,000 hectares, located in 9 communes: Tri Le, Tien Phong, Thong Thu, Hanh Dich, Nam Giai, Dong Van, Nam Nhong, Cam Muon and Chau Thon. According to the investigation, Pu Hoat Nature Reserve has currently recorded 763 plant species belonging to 427 genera, 142 families, and more than 30 species are suspected to be in the Vietnam Red Book. And there are 176 species of vertebrates belonging to 4 classes: mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians.

The establishment of Pu Hoat Nature Reserve will contribute to protecting and organizing scientific research, promoting special values ​​of nature, ecosystem standards, biodiversity, biological gene sources, historical relics, cultural landscapes, and providing forest environmental services.

According to the establishment decision of the Provincial People's Committee, Pu Hoat Nature Reserve will have 1 director and head of the forest ranger department, 2 deputy directors and 35 staff members.
