The symbol of the National Brand of handicraft industry is a harmonious combination of the image of conical hat, main craftsman and lotus flower.
Today, in Hanoi, the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in collaboration with the Vietnam Handicraft Export Association held a ceremony to announce the National Brand of Vietnam's handicraft industry.

The symbol of the National Handicraft Brand is a harmonious combination of the image of the conical hat, a handicraft product very familiar to Vietnamese women, the main craftsmen of the country, and the lotus flower symbolizing the Vietnamese soul. The symbol represents the rise and development on the foundation of sustainable values, which is the factor that makes the difference of the country's handicraft industry.
The project is supported by the European Union within the framework of the European Trade Policy and Investment Support project. To achieve the national brand, businesses must meet 46 criteria, from production to consumption, from sustainability in raw materials to product creation, distribution and sustainability in use.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Thong, Deputy Director of Ha Nam Province Rattan and Bamboo Company, said: This is a good opportunity for businesses to penetrate the market more easily as well as promote their brands to the world. This is an opportunity for businesses to seek international markets. In the immediate future, leading businesses will be certified as qualified businesses. After that, the Association will continue to train more and more businesses to be certified.
According to statistics, up to now, the handicraft industry has attracted about 1.5 million workers, bringing in export turnover of about 1.7 billion USD per year./.
