'Carrying' a whole lot of drugs to sell, 2 local guys appear in court, the boss flees
(Baonghean.vn) - Hired by a Laotian drug lord to transport drugs, Chong Vang carried a sack of "white goods" cut through the forest to Vietnam. Ho Vu carried out the mission to go to Vietnam to get money from selling the "goods". When the subjects were arrested, the leader quickly fled.
On August 10, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened a first-instance criminal trial of two defendants Chong Vang (born 2002), residing in Thong Vieng Kham village and Ho Vu (born 1994), residing in Thong Cha Lon village, both in Kham Cot district, Bolikhamxay province, Laos, for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
According to the investigation agency's documents, one day in early 2020, Chong Vang was at home when No Denh Ha (a Laotian) came to discuss hiring him to go with Ly Vang to transport drugs to Vietnam and receive 1,000 USD as a salary.
On the afternoon of January 13, 2020, Ha drove a car carrying Ly Vang to pick up Chong Vang to go to Vietnam. At 8:00 p.m. the same day, when arriving at the Laos - Vietnam border, Ha gave 2 backpacks containing drugs to the subjects and directed them to "cut the forest" to go to Vietnam.

At 6 p.m. on January 14, Ho Vu was having dinner at a restaurant in Lac Xao town, Kham Cot district when Ha came to hire him to go to Vietnam to receive drug money and would be paid from 1,000 USD to 3,000 USD. Because he knew Vietnamese, Ho Vu agreed.
On the afternoon of April 17, Ho Vu went to Vinh City and rented a hotel to wait for customers to contact him. Then, Vu received a phone call from a Vietnamese man named Nam to deliver drug money. Following Ha's instructions over the phone, Vu followed Nam to check the money. Nam pointed to a backpack full of money and said: "200 thousand dollars, not a single penny missing". At 6:30 p.m. the same day, Nam drove a car carrying Vu to Thanh Thuy area to receive drugs.
At this time, from Laos, Ha continuously directed his accomplices to deliver drugs. At around 8:00 p.m. the same day, Chong Vang carried a sack containing drugs near the car to deliver them when he was discovered and caught red-handed by the police, who seized 12 packages of drugs weighing 11,547.65 grams and 20 cakes of drugs weighing 6,500.11 grams.
Not long after, Vo Hu and Nam were stopped by Nghe An police for inspection in the Ho Chi Minh road area in Thanh Thuy commune. Taking advantage of the loophole, the man named Nam drove away while Ho Vu was taken to the police station for investigation.
At court, the two defendants admitted their crimes and asked for a lighter sentence. Considering the entire case, the court sentenced Ho Vu to life in prison and Chong Vang to 17 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking".
The investigation agency determined that in this case, No Denh Ha was the mastermind, directly assigned tasks and assigned subjects to transport drugs from Laos to Vietnam.
The investigation agency conducted verification in Kham Cot district, Bolikhamxay province and was told by Lao police that this was a drug subject that the district police were fighting against, so they could not provide the background and photo of No Denh Ha. At the time of the inspection, Ha was not present in the area, so the authorities could not manage him. Therefore, the investigation agency continued to verify and clarify when there was enough evidence, then it would be handled later.
