Princess Charlotte makes her first public appearance

The British princess appeared in public for the first time on June 11 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday.

According to Mirror, the little princess and her brother George appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace yesterday with other members of the royal family to witness the Red Arrows air force's performance to celebrate the Queen's birthday.

While holding her little girl, Kate pointed to the sky, signaling her daughter to look at the planes flying around. Princess Charlotte smiled and seemed unfazed by the crowd of people standing below. She looked up at the sky and seemed to enjoy it.

This is Charlotte's first public appearance with the royal family since her birth on May 2 last year.

Prince George, who turns 3 next month, looked excited to see the performance. He leaned on the balcony, pointed to the sky, and squinted to see better. At one point, Prince William signaled to his son to wave to the fans.

George wore the same outfit William wore to Prince Harry's christening in 1984, a white shirt. Charlotte looked adorable in a pale pink dress. Mother-of-two Kate also chose a white Alexander MacQueen coat and pale pink Philip Treacy hat to match her two children.

Previously, William and Kate joined Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family in attending the Trooping the Colour parade, a traditional event to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.

Queen Elizabeth II was actually born on April 21, but her birthday is celebrated on a Saturday in June every year. According to Express, this tradition is related to the unpredictable weather in the UK. The Royal Family prefers to hold the royal birthday parade in the summer, when the weather is more favorable.
