(Baonghean.vn) - Compared to many localities across the country, Nghe An has implemented Circular No. 31/2023/TT-BCA early. Accordingly, citizens do not have to directly apply for passports at the Immigration Department for children under 14 years old, but can submit passport applications through the public service portal.

On July 20, 2023, the Ministry of Public Security issued Circular No. 31/2023/TT-BCA regulating passport forms, travel documents and related forms, effective from August 15, 2023. In order to effectively implement a number of tasks, the Immigration Management Department of Nghe An Police organized training for nearly 500 police officers at ward and commune levels in Nghe An to carry out a number of procedures for administrative procedures in the field of immigration on the Ministry of Public Security's Public Service Portal.

In which, Decision No. 3733/QD-BCA on the internal verification process for administrative procedures in the field of immigration management was thoroughly implemented. This is a process that has just been issued by the Ministry of Public Security to effectively implement administrative procedures performed through the Public Service Portal. At the same time, instructions were given on the installation of software for work; the process of receiving and processing some procedures performed at the commune level in the field of immigration.

In particular, for the reception of passport applications for citizens, from August 15, 2023, the application form for children under 14 years old will be made according to form TK01a, received at the commune level, and implemented according to the internal verification process. Thus, citizens do not have to directly apply for passports at the Immigration Department for children under 14 years old, but can submit passport applications through the public service portal.

According to the Immigration Department, Provincial Police: Nghe An is a province with a large number of citizens applying for passports. To proactively carry out this task well, immediately after implementation, officers of the Immigration Department have increased their visits to the grassroots level, guiding the police in communes to implement, removing difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process to improve the efficiency of handling administrative procedures for people. Based on the learning through training, as well as direct guidance, from August 15 to now, the police in wards and communes in the province have received and processed nearly 30 passport applications for children through the public service portal.
