Trade unions in the North Central provinces: Over 325 billion VND spent on caring for workers.
In the first few months of the year, the Trade Unions of the six provinces in North Central Vietnam have been working hard to care for their members and workers while simultaneously streamlining their organizational structures.
On the morning of June 17th, in Vinh City, the emulation cluster of the Labor Federations of the North Central provinces and cities held a conference to review the first six months of the year and implement tasks for the last six months of 2025.

Attending the conference, on behalf of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor were: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung – Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh - Member of the Presidium, Chief of Office; Mr. Le Quang Tuan - Head of the Emulation and Commendation Department. Also present were representatives of the trade union leadership from 6 provinces in the North Central region.
Comrades Le Minh Nhan - Chairman of the Hue City Federation of Labor, Head of the emulation cluster; and Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Deputy Head of the emulation cluster, chaired the conference.

In the first six months of 2025, the total number of trade union members in the six provinces and cities of North Central Vietnam was 843,246, an increase of 33,858 compared to the end of 2024; the total number of grassroots trade unions was 11,627. The average income of workers in enterprises reached approximately 6.5 million VND/person/month. However, some enterprises still faced difficulties, forcing them to scale back production and lay off workers. The labor relations situation was basically stable, with 17 collective work stoppages and 29 labor accidents resulting in 9 deaths. Trade unions at all levels in the region provided support to 841,771 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of over 325 billion VND.

In particular, this year's "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" program was organized by units from the provincial to the grassroots level with many practical activities, under the motto "All union members and workers will have a Tet holiday."
With the theme "Vietnamese workers pioneering into a new era," the Workers' Month, linked with the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025, was actively implemented by trade unions at all levels in the six provinces and cities of North Central Vietnam, with many vibrant and meaningful activities such as giving gifts to union members in difficult circumstances, awarding "Trade Union Shelters," visiting and giving gifts to workers and laborers who suffered work accidents, etc.

Regarding membership development, the entire cluster established 90 grassroots trade unions and recruited 26,573 members. The cluster recommended 4,751 outstanding members to the Party, of which 1,871 were admitted; organized 43 training courses on trade union work for 6,657 trade union officials at all levels; provided legal advice on regulations and policies to over 20,000 female workers… Propaganda work, the activities of the Inspection Committee, financial and asset management, and foreign affairs were all given attention and implemented effectively.

Besides the achievements, the conference also frankly acknowledged some shortcomings and limitations such as: The understanding of the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers was sometimes inadequate; the work of promoting membership growth and establishing grassroots trade unions still faced many difficulties, and the number of newly recruited members was not high. In addition, the restructuring...organizational structureThe dissolution of the industry and district trade unions has impacted the morale of the full-time trade union officials.
To fulfill the 2025 theme "Focus on developing union membership and participating in building a clean and strong Party," in the last six months of 2025, the Federation of Labor Unions of the North Central provinces and cities will focus on the following key tasks: Continuing to reorganize and streamline the trade union apparatus at all levels; strengthening propaganda and mobilization efforts to develop union membership, introducing and training outstanding union members for the Party; focusing on caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of union members and workers; and effectively organizing the "Tet Reunion 2026" program.
At the conference, delegates exchanged views, made recommendations, and clarified a number of issues related to the restructuring, organization, and arrangement after the merger, streamlining, and future goals and tasks.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Le Minh Nhan assessed this as an important and historic preliminary review meeting, especially as the trade union organization is undergoing a streamlining revolution. He also acknowledged the contributions and efforts of the cluster's trade union officials over the past period. He expressed confidence that in the future, the trade union officials will uphold the fine traditions, fulfill their duties and roles, continue to innovate their activities, and maintain their position.trade union organizationin the new situation./.
