Nghe An Trade Union contributes effectively to epidemic prevention and control

The active support of the Trade Union organization has made an important contribution to epidemic prevention, stabilizing production, ensuring jobs and income for union members and workers.

TIMELY AND COMPREHENSIVE DIRECTION

Faced with the complicated situation of the 4th Covid-19 outbreak, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor has issued many documents on implementing a number of urgent tasks in the work of preventing and fighting the epidemic and supporting union members and workers affected by the epidemic. Directing trade unions at all levels to closely and effectively coordinate with professionals, sectors, forces, and localities; developing scenarios,epidemic prevention measuresin the workforce, especially workers in industrial parks.

At the same time, the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor launched the emulation movement "Employees strive to overcome difficulties, be creative, and determined to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic" with the theme "Each trade union is a fortress, a peaceful home; each employee is a soldier". Calling on employees in the province to support the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund. Calling on businesses, production and business establishments in the province to participate in the program "One million doses of vaccine for poor workers" launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Calling on employees in the province to respond to the week "For the city named after Uncle Ho" launched by the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

In order to prevent and control the epidemic in a timely, synchronous and widespread manner, the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor has directed all levels of trade unions to widely deploy information and propaganda work on disease prevention and control among employees. Trade unions at all levels have conveyed propaganda contents according to the direction to grassroots trade unions. Various forms of propaganda: from direct to through social networks, distributing leaflets, slogans, loudspeakers, posting news articles on the Electronic Information Portal, in central and local newspapers.

Implementing the direction of the General Confederation of Labor on disease prevention and control, Nghe An Labor Federation has directed the grassroots trade unions to actively guide trade unions at all levels to direct enterprises and production and business establishments to establish“Covid-19 Safety Team”; develop a response plan for Covid-19 epidemic levels in the business sector; organize a delegation to supervise epidemic prevention and control work in a number of enterprises with a large number of employees.

TIMELY SUPPORT FOR WORKERS

To support workers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor promptly issued guiding documents onemergency assistancefor union members and workers affected by the epidemic during the 4th outbreak. The total amount converted to support the prevention and control of Covid-19 to date is nearly 6.5 billion VND.

In particular, 95 tons of goods were mobilized and donated to support localities in and outside the province affected by the epidemic, with a converted value of more than 2.8 billion VND. Expenditure to support Covid-19 prevention and control and support workers in cash was nearly 3.8 billion VND. Of which, more than 1.6 billion VND was supported for the frontline against the epidemic, 115.730 million VND was supported for workers in the provinces and the Golden Heart Fund, and more than 2 billion VND was supported for workers from union policies.

In addition, Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor received and distributed goods worth 300 million VND donated by Bac Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor to workers in 7 districts and 4 industries with many workers implementing "3 on-site", giving them to workers in Bac Vinh boarding house who lost their jobs, and workers returning from the South with difficult circumstances.

In addition to monetary and material support activities, Nghe An Trade Union also organized Trade Union Kitchens to support tens of thousands of daily meals for concentrated quarantine areas and field hospitals in localities. It is estimated that union members and workers in the whole province have performed more than 10,000 working days.

The Provincial Federation of Labor also directed and coordinated with the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union to survey and organize activities."Love bus"Support necessities for 300 workers of Bac Vinh boarding house who lost their jobs and are in difficult circumstances.

MANY GOOD, CREATIVE WAYS

In order to carry out epidemic prevention and control work in accordance with the situation of each locality, the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor has directed the flexible implementation of many models to accompany the epidemic prevention and control work. From there, district, city, town, and industry unions have had good, creative, and effective ways of doing things. For example: The model of "Library of online learning support equipment for students in difficult circumstances" of the Education Trade Union; the model of taking care of children of medical staff participating in the frontline of the epidemic prevention, contacting businesses to support English learning software accounts for children aged 5-10, giving Mid-Autumn gifts and books to children of the Health Trade Union; the program "Mid-Autumn Festival for children" for children of workers at enterprises in Yen Thanh district, Vinh city...

Some units have creative and innovative ways of propaganda work such as: Building representative frames, Infographics on disease prevention; organizing photo contests on disease prevention and control activities in trade unions; Mobilizing union members to create short video clips to propagate the 5K regulations; Enterprises with a large number of employees propagate visual images in places where many employees are concentrated.

Some units, through organizing the model "Your Health", which includes rapid Covid-19 antigen testing, directly advise and educate workers on how to take care of their health and prevent disease.

To strengthen the work of epidemic prevention and control in the new situation, Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor continues to promote the dissemination of good examples, typical examples, and good practices in epidemic prevention and control. Timely prevent bad, untrue, and fake information that negatively affects the psychology of the anti-epidemic force and causes confusion and anxiety for workers. Ensure close and effective coordination between all levels of the Union with professionals, sectors, forces, and localities.Building scenarios, measures to prevent and control the epidemic among employees, especially employees in industrial parks. Quickly coordinate with functional agencies to control and stabilize the epidemic situation, avoiding the spread of the epidemic in the community. Promote communication work on trade union activities, emulation movements to restore production, overcome the consequences of the epidemic, ensure jobs and income for workers. Coordinate with all levels and sectors to direct trade unions at all levels to carry out the work of preventing and controlling the Covid-19 epidemic, ensuring production adapts to the new situation in production units, especially in industrial parks.
